Prologue
One night in 2026, a strange station name appears on the sign of an empty last train: “1996.”
At the end of a broken life, you’re handed a yellowed ticket. You open your eyes in an eight-year-old’s body — with every headline and market price of the next 30 years still in your head.
When the currency crisis hits, which markets rise and fall, who will betray you — you know a lot, but nothing is guaranteed. Study, work, fall in love and invest, and redesign your life until you arrive in 2026 again.
Two Lives
In Korea, “dirt spoon” and “gold spoon” mean born poor and born rich. Your past life and your 1996 starting line depend on it — but either way, a regressor has one weapon: memories of the future.
In your past life you held on as a subcontractor’s assistant manager. Your deposit vanished; only debt remained.
